Svaroopa® Yoga Therapy

Svaroopa® Yoga Therapy addresses specific areas of concern or injury in your body through advanced therapeutic techniques applied in specific yoga poses.  It is highly effective in treating all kinds of acute or chronic pain, such as:  back spasms, neck and shoulder, knee and foot pain; Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, Migraines, Neuropathy, Spinal Stenosis, disc injuries and other spinal conditions.  In addition, it can help with digestive disorders, allergies, asthma and other conditions related to the proper functioning of internal organs.

Your therapist will take you through a series of gentle, non-strenuous Svaroopa® yoga poses in a very quiet and restful environment.  While you are in the poses, she or he may apply specific propping, alignments and adjustments to meet your body where you are at that moment.  The number of poses utilized in a yoga therapy session is much less than in a yoga class, and you may linger in them longer.  The therapeutic application of techniques is more advanced than you would receive in a class, and provides a deeper effect.

Embodyment® Therapy

Embodyment® therapy releases the deepest tensions along your spine while you rest in Shavasana, yoga’s relaxation pose. Your therapist uses specific hand positions to target the muscles attached to your spine, starting with the tailbone.

Embodyment® is healing on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and more. It is effective in treating: neck, back and joint pain, spinal injuries and misalignment’s, digestive disorders, allergies, asthma and other conditions related to proper functioning of the internal organs.

FAQ:

What if I am in acute pain with significantly reduced mobility?

If you are in acute pain, your therapist will start you with a very gentle program, designed to ease you out of the acute stage in a short period of time.  The program may start with only a simple Svaroopa® yoga breathing practice, or perhaps a pose or two.  Once you are out of the acute stage, you will continue with more non-strenuous poses to meet your body where you are at the moment.  You will gain mobility incrementally at a steady, even pace that matches your body’s capacity for healing at that time.

How often and how long will I need to come for yoga therapy sessions?

This question depends on you, your condition and how much healing you desire.  Some people come for only a few sessions.  Some come regularly every week.  Some come intermittently.  If you are experiencing a condition for which you want the fastest, most effective healing possible, then you will want an OVERLAP HEALING schedule.  Your therapist will provide you with a personalized home practice plan to do between appointments to help you to sustain the benefits from each session.  Over time, this plan will be enhanced and deepened until you can go longer and longer between appointments.  Our goal is to provide you with a reliable self-healing methodology so that you eventually no longer need Svaroopa® Yoga Therapy sessions on a regular basis.  You may decide to join a yoga class to help keep you fine-tuned and progressing in your yoga practice.

Yoga Therapy Pricing – $70 single session or $300 for 5 sessions.  Sliding scale options available.
